Rock, Bone, Steel. This new phase of play and experimentation falls outside the parameters of The Game, as it was designed, but it is where The Game is inviting me to go next. The materials that remained active in the end have me thinking about what information they carry, both metaphorically and for me personally. Their meanings change when they are brought together in multiples, assemblages, or in hybrid forms. Some of the objects documented feel to me like totems, symbolically connected to ideas of place, stability, ground, strength, and endurance. Nests of steel; bones inscribed with wishes; clay rocks embedded with history and formed in my hands.
