Centre Does Not Hold (2025)

Video and Performance by lo bil Voices by Scrape Collective, recorded on site by lo bil Camera by LF Documentation.
In this iteration of my Moving Materials practice, I let mutable sculptures form in relation to my body and I connect sounds found in my environment. The one-take improvised action featured Centre Does Not Hold is a way of responding to a barrage of images received through social media. Can the physical imagination return to the primary skill of sensing and following material flow?

lo bil is a performance artist living on Turtle Island, Tkaronto, Dish with One Spoon Territory. She is interested in how to subvert her own cultural assumptions, DIY aesthetics, and finding ways to share space with the wisdom of materials.
