Jordan's Project Statement: Currently I am recycling a collection of paper items that have been accumulating in my home since October of 2021. I’m documenting this process through a domestic log (a video of the recycling process) and a Domestic Log (a paper sculpture emulating a severed tree). I’m interested in the gesture of recycling paper back into tree form while also exploring what information can be shared through various “logs” and “logging”.

Jordan's Artist Statement:
I am a visual artist, researcher and recycler. My practice redesigns systems of making, living and working to be more empathetic, collaborative and sustainable. Recently my work investigates material re-use and recycling through site-based paper-making. I consider my work an ongoing practice in learning to do less harm. I scavenge, archive and reform discarded materials, rerouting them from the waste stream to sites of deep appreciation and care. The objects and installations I present often evolve over time, embracing natural systems of process, rather than product. I intend for my art practice to unify gaps between art and life, creating a holistic life practice where creative work happens outside of the studio, in unconventional, domestic, ecological and public spheres.
